As the Phoenixville Area School District Safety and Security Coordinator, my role is to help maintain safe, secure, and supportive learning environments for all students, staff, and visitors. School safety is a shared responsibility built on prevention, preparedness, communication, and collaboration.

The district is committed to consistent safety practices across all schools and continually reviews and strengthens its procedures. This includes emergency preparedness, threat assessment, staff training, and partnerships with local agencies to proactively address safety concerns.

This page provides information about reporting safety concerns, our safety practices, and available resources. Families and staff are encouraged to review these resources and contact their school administration with any safety-related questions.

Reporting Safety Concerns

PASD provides multiple ways for students, staff, parents, and community members to report concerning behavior. We encourage individuals to "see something, say something" so concerns can be addressed promptly, and appropriate support can be provided.

Students, families, and staff may submit concerns about wellness and safety in school. This may include individual incidents, general concerns, or tips on potential situations. Direct threats or threatening behavior should be reported to SafetoSay Something. (see below).

Safe2Say Something

A youth violence prevention program by the PA Attorney General that teaches youth and adults to recognize warning signs, especially on social media, and report potential threats anonymously to themselves or others.

There are three ways to submit an anonymous tip:
1. Call the Tip Line: 1-844-SAF2SAY (1-844-723-2729)
2. Use the Website: www.safe2saypa.org
3. Download/use the Mobile App

Here is how it works:
• Submit an anonymous tip report through the Safe2Say Something system
• Crisis center reviews, assesses and processes all submissions
• Crisis center sends all submissions to school administration and/or law enforcement for intervention
• If needed, crisis center may contact tipster anonymously through the app

PASD Safety Practices

Behavioral Threat Assessment Management

To help ensure a safe and supportive learning environment, the Phoenixville Area School District follows Pennsylvania's Act 18 Threat Assessment requirements, which mandates that all school districts maintain trained Threat Assessment Teams. These teams use a structured, evidence-based process to identify, assess, and respond to behaviors that may indicate a potential safety concern. The focus is on prevention, early intervention, and support, and includes connecting students and families with appropriate resources while promoting the safety and well-being of the entire school community. .

Visitor Management System

To help ensure the safety and security of all students and staff, all visitors must report to the main office immediately upon entering any Phoenixville Area School District (PASD) building.

Visitors will be required to present a valid government-issued photo ID to sign in through the district's visitor management system before being granted access to the building.

If you are only dropping off an item for a student, please contact your child's school office in advance or follow the building's established drop-off procedures. Building-specific protocols may vary.
