“BYOT” is an acronym for “Bring Your Own Technology.” In essence, this means allowing students and staff to bring their personally owned technology devices into PASD schools. This can include smart phones, tablets such as the iPad, laptop computers, or even iPod touches. Today, wireless Internet connectivity is nearly ubiquitous, and the devices that connect to it are very portable. By bringing your own device, you have the comfort and familiarity of using the same device at home and at school. You can connect your device to the PASD wireless network, thereby obtaining Internet access, and use the same online tools that are available with a PASD owned device.
Personally owned devices may not be charged in school. It is the owner’s responsibility to make sure that the device is fully charged, and/or that there are extra batteries.
